Your body’s design is just incredible. (Trust me when I tell you that you’re going to get sick of me saying that…but it’s so true!) There’s so much more to it than most people will ever realize. One of its many interesting quirks is that putting pressure on your heel causes your glutes to contract. It’s just part of our wiring. That feature comes in handy as we rehab everything from strokes to sports injuries, but YOU can take advantage of it in your workouts too. Pushing through your heels during squats, lunges, while on the elliptical, etc will help you activate your all-important glutes. Put a couple fingers on your butt and feel it for yourself. Try it and let me know how it goes.
